Looking from the outside in

Our mission

To give young people a clear, accurate and independent account of American politics and its place in the world, from Americans their age writing from both the States and abroad.

Who we are

Youth Outsider is an independent, student-run publication covering U.S. politics and international relations, reported, written and edited by teenagers.

We launched in fall 2026 and are in our starter stage: our first stories are out, and we're building the newsroom now. Our writers are American teens living both in the States and abroad. We follow Washington closely, some of us from a distance, and report on how its decisions are felt around the world. That is the view our name describes: looking from the outside in.

01 · U.S. PoliticsElections, Congress, the courts and the White House.
02 · International RelationsWorld politics, and U.S. foreign policy abroad.
03 · Op-EdsArguments from students anywhere, clearly labeled as opinion.
